Gather: The Perfect Chocolate Chip Cookie

Every cook needs a chocolate chip cookie recipe. One that is delightfully full of chocolate chips and with just the right texture. If you enjoy chewy cookies with slightly crisp edges then this is the recipe for you. These gems are perfect for school lunches or a mid-day coffee break. This particular recipe is best prepared in advance to allow plenty of time for chilling. Enjoy!

Chocolate Chip Cookies

3 cups all-purpose flour

1 cup butter, softened

1 cup granulated sugar

1 cup brown sugar

2 eggs

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

1 teaspoon baking soda

1 teaspoon salt

12 ounces chocolate chips


In a large mixing bowl, cream together butter and sugars until fluffy. Add baking soda and salt; mix thoroughly. Stir in eggs and vanilla and beat well. Add the flour and blend until just combined. Stir in chocolate chips. Chill for at least one hour or overnight. Bake at 375 degrees for 12-15 minutes. Do not over-bake! Bake just until edges are slightly browned.
